USAID’s initial investment in the country’s first-ever electric vehicle charging station received wide attention from both the public and private sectors. This has been done by refining regulatory frameworks, incentivizing car manufacturers like Nissan Jordan to make Jordan the first country in the Arab world in which they have rolled out their electric products and lastly securing commitments from fuel retailers such as Manaseer Group to install electric vehicle charging stations at their retail outlets. Two years later and we’re seeing electric vehicles all across Jordan. USAID’s Jordan Competitiveness Program Chief of Party Dr. Wissam Rabadi witnesses the real life results of USAID’s work.
